Critique My Chart Patterns & Trendlines 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
hi guys , i was just browsing through some local & foreign charts last night looking for some patterns/trendlines to draw and i thought i'd post them up here for anyone to critique. the more critical the better. i'll take it right on the chin.

the first chart is ALI. it's a 10yr, weekly chart. an inverted head & shoulders pattern looks to have formed from 2001 to the start of 2004 w/ the right shoulder slightly higher than the left shoulder. the head is formed near the 2002 mark. the neckline is broken which calls for the reversal in trend near the 2005 mark. a role reversal occurs on the neckline as resistance turns into support and support is tested (just before the 01/03/05 line). a higher high is made a little after 01/03/05 and new found support is found on the pullback at just under P6.00 in the middle of 2005. price continues trending upwards until the double-top is formed and the trend is reversed when it breaks the neckline at about P13.00

sorry, didnt get all the trendlines/labels in.

some U.S. charts...

stock IWM, weekly, 4 years.

the 3 year trendline is broken near the start of 2008. the prices consolidate to form a rectangular pattern. a false breakout occurred (on high volume too) about 6 weeks prior to the date of the chart. hard to tell where it closed on the chart for that week. prices evenutally broke down and resumed the downward trend with a gap down signifying perhaps selling panic.

US Stock: PFE, weekly, 5yrs.

this looks like an inverted head and shoulders pattern spanning about 2 years. new found support seemed to be at $26 after breaking out of the resistance neckline. the $26 support didn't hold long and brokedown on the first pullback signalling the failed reversal. a rally proceeded for a couple of weeks or so but then succumbed to selling (on heavy volume). prices could not break out of the ~$29 resistance level and hence continued its downtrend.
