Ghosts in the Stock Machine Recap

It was a rainy and windy night last Aug. 6 when the Absolute Traders community got together again during a Chart Analysis Forum, sponsored by AgriNurture Inc., at Barbara’s Orchidarium along Finance Road in Manila. Its been awhile since AT members last saw each other and the weather did not dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of the community. It was like one big reunion party.
Danny Go, welcomed everyone present and to start things off, dinner was served. While people were having dinner, Danny then read an article on the significance of 2012 and the market, touching on agricultural products becoming an important commodity in the near future. At around 8:15 pm, the inter-market analysis was done by Bonner Dytoc & Danny, touching on how the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq indices were doing. Then a look at the PSEi showed us what was happening to the local market and then they went into the different sector indices to have an idea on which issues to concentrate on.
After Danny and Bonner gave their opinions on selected issues, the floor was now open for various other issues that people wanted to see and where their current holdings might go.
There was also an interesting question regarding the effect of the Chinese Ghost month on the market. Bonner answered that the perception of many was that the tradition of the Chinese would hold true this year and that the market would lack liquidity due to many players staying away from the market during this time. However, the charts have shown in the past few years that the ghost month has been ignored as the index continued to rise. So it’s a possibility that this year’s ghost month would follow recent years’ treatment of this phenomenon. By 9:30 pm, the forum was brought to a close with everyone satisfied with what they learned that night.
