PSEi Outlook for Dec. 21 – 24, 2009

Monday, December 21, 2009 22:22 No Comments

More sideways movement for the index is coming for this Christmas week.
Not only are people’s minds on vacation mode at this point, but there are no leads for the market to pull itself to higher levels.
Although we are still bullish, we should note that the momentum for the PSEi is already decelerating.  We should be [...]

PSEi Outlook for Dec. 14 – 18, 2009

Monday, December 14, 2009 9:30 No Comments

Once again the PSEi has broken the support line telling us that the index seems to be changing direction.
Although we are still bullish as seen in the moving averages, the PSEi seems to be tapering off in its ascent.  As we said earlier, this is the third time that the index has broken the support [...]

Forex Trade Idea #104: Long USDJPY (Closed +87)

Thursday, December 10, 2009 13:47 5 Comments

My low stress trade was a fail but that doesn’t change my bias on USDJPY. I’m still long!
AB=CD on the monthly chart.

Entry on the 15-minute chart. Buy if the price closes above that blue line. It is important that you wait for the candle close. Target is at 90.75 and stop will be placed 5 pips below [...]

I’m calling a “low stress” buy trade on the USDJPY; We will be buying the breakout level at 88.3. Place your stop at 87.9, move stop to breakeven once it hits 89.5 or take your profits if you like.
Buy: 88.3
Stop: 87.9
Targets: 90/92.4/94
Trade opened at 88.44

PSEi Outlook for Dec. 7 – 11, 2009

Sunday, December 6, 2009 21:42 No Comments

We started strong last week by shaking off the immediate effects of the Dubai mess. As other major markets were recovering, we continued to climb out of the Dubai hole.
However, this doesn’t mean that everything is already okay.  We breached through the 3100 level briefly but the PSEi backed off that level by tumbling down [...]

PSEi Outlook for Dec. 1 – 4, 2009

Tuesday, December 1, 2009 9:10 No Comments

Just before the weekend, the whole financial world was dealt a new shock: Dubai sent feelers of a potential default causing global markets to panic on Thursday and into Friday.  It’s like the subprime crisis all over again.
Due to this, initial reaction in the PSE was panic selling in the first 15 minutes.  The selling [...]
